What was your proudest moment of 2015?
“My proudest moment 2015 was winning the Pan American Games and being chosen as USA’s Flag bearer.”
What do you hope to achieve in 2016?
“I hope to continue my 3 year winning streak, adding on Another Olympic title.”
What is a little known fact that people may not know about you?
“People may not know that I am very nice and social.”
What has been the most challenging part of your boxing career?
“Most challenging part of my boxing career has been staying away from my family, that really bothers me.”
What does it mean to you to be one of the Top Performer’s of the Year?
“It means a lot to the one of top performers of the Year. I train really hard to perform at my best.”
What is a typical training day for you look like?
“Typical training day consist of 4 mile jog in the morning plus 75 push ups and 500 fast crunches. Then a boxing session of 4 rounds shadow boxing, 6 rounds on the bag, 4 rounds of pad work and 15 minutes jump rope, then night session of 6 rounds of intense sparring.”
What words of wisdom do you have for new boxers trying to make a name for themselves?
“My advice for anyone trying to be successful is “Never doubt yourself,” I say that because some people will. Never understand your vision! So just set one goal at a time and conquer them.”
